Senator John McCain has come out in
support of his friends, the MoFoBros, but don't worry. Senator Insane can
tell who 'the good guys are' even if they are currently murdering teens in
Alexandria by throwing them off of roofs (video).
Seriously, who's surprised? Anyone?
US
Republican Senator John McCain has called on the US government to suspend
financial aid to the Egyptian army, following a military coup that overthrew
the elected president Mohamed Morsi.
“We
have to suspend aid to Egyptian military because the military has overturned
the vote of the people,” McCain, who is also a member of the Senate’s Foreign
Relations Committee, said on Friday.
In other words, Senator John McCain would
have called for a suspension of military aid to Nazi Germany if the colonels
had succeeded in removing Hitler and his cohorts from power.
One of the murdering Islamists in Alexandria. That would be an Al Qaeda flag he is carrying.
Democracy does not trump liberty and
human rights. In the United States, we
do not permit the majority to strip minorities of rights. McCain’s MoFoBros has done exactly that,
among other actions that are odious to the nose of freedom.
Like Obama, McCain always winds up on the wrong side of history.
From Andrew McCarthy…
Before
the Muslim Brotherhood came to power in Egypt, The Maverick told Der Spiegel
that the Brothers must be excluded from participating in the post-Mubarak
Egyptian government. But what about the will of the people? McCain was unmoved
because, he reckoned, the Brotherhood was an “anti-democratic” organization. As
I recount in Spring Fever:
Senator
John McCain of Arizona … insisted, during an interview
by the German newspaper Der Spiegel, that the Muslim Brotherhood was “a radical
group that, first of all, supports Sharia law; that in itself is
anti-democratic – at least as far as women are concerned. They have been
involved with other terrorist organizations and I believe that they should be
specifically excluded from any transition government.” Around the same time,
McCain’s oft-time side-kick, Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, chimed
in that he was suspicious of the Brothers’ “agenda” and that “their motives are
very much in question.”
Of
course, the Brothers’ motives were never in question. They are Islamic
supremacists whose agenda, first, last and always, has been the implementation
of Islam’s totalitarian sharia system — which is actually even worse and more
anti-democratic than McCain suggested. Moreover, McCain and Graham made their
dour observations before the Brotherhood took power. Once the Brothers were in
control of the government, they did exactly what McCain said he feared they
would do: work to install sharia law, make life miserable for women (among
others), and promote terrorism (backing Hamas, calling for the Blind Sheikh’s
release, etc.). McCain was right (so rare to type those words): the Brothers
should have been excluded from participating in the Egyptian government because
they are anti-democratic and thus ill-suited for democracy.
So
now that the military has finally done what McCain said should have been done
in the first place, what does McCain want to the U.S. to do? Why, cut off
American aid to the Egyptian military, of course. After all, “the military has
overturned the vote of the people.”
Man,
Republicans sure are shrewd to keep taking their cues from this guy.
That’s what you call ‘Maverick Consistency.’
As an addendum to his weekend column, Mark Steyn writes:
Morsi’s
guys finally figure out what happened:
Muslim Brotherhood Claims Interim Egyptian President Is Jewish
UPDATE: On the other hand, Egypt’s “liberal” papers have the realscoop:
Morsi was a Zionist stooge.
In
a fractious, bitterly divided land, it’s good to know that all people, Muslim
Brothers and secular liberals alike, can come together and agree that those
Jooooooooooooos are the real problem.
‘That’s retarded, Sir!’
Why, yes! Yes, it is.
Snort.

Mourners are marching through Manial with the coffins. Chanting in rage against the Brotherhood
The funeral follows the MoFoBros opening fire on anti-Morsi protestors last night on the El-Gamaa bridge near Cairo University. Here's video from that exchange.
As Egyptocracy points out: 'If the MB is fighting a coup, then why are they attacking neighbourhoods, shops, churches, and civilians instead of the army?'
And one more for McCaniacs:
Earlier this week, Coptic Pope Tawadros II tweeted his support for the anti-Morsi protesters
Earlier today, Islamists, who support Morsi, reportedly murdered Coptic
Christian priest, Mina Aboud Sharween, in the lawless Northern Sinai are, which has been dubbed the Waziristan of Egypt.
Reuters
reported:
Gunmen
shot dead a Coptic Christian priest in Egypt’s lawless Northern Sinai on
Saturday in what could be the first sectarian attack since the military
overthrow of Islamist President Mohamed Mursi, security sources said.
The
priest, Mina Aboud Sharween, was attacked in the early afternoon while walking
in the Masaeed area in El Arish.
The
shooting in the coastal city was one of several attacks believed to be by
Islamist insurgents that included firing at four military checkpoints in the
region, the sources said.
Saturday’s
attacks on checkpoints took place in al-Mahajer and al-Safaa in Rafah, as well
as Sheikh Zuwaid and al-Kharouba.
Mursi’s Muslim Brotherhood has fiercely
criticised Coptic Pope Tawadros, spiritual leader of Egypt’s 8 million
Christians, for giving his blessing to the removal of the president.
