Hail, Hail, The Hail's All Here!

An evening thunderstorm the day before the Fourth of July left the town of Santa Rosa, New Mexico, buried under more than a foot of hail, some of which was the size of golf balls. The hail damaged skylights, a roof, and accumulated in drifts that clogged the city's streets. Interestingly, such bizarre occurrences are not uncommon in Northeast New Mexico, a region meteorologists have dubbed "Hail Alley."
