Considering how screwed up this country - the United States of American Idol - is, it was only a matter of time...
From the Clarion-Ledger (be sure to check out the snaps):
Who is Paul Kevin Curtis, the Mississippi man the FBI arrested
Wednesday in connection to letters with traces of ricin sent to
President Barack Obama and Sen. Roger Wicker?
Curtis, a Corinth resident, might be better known to some as a celebrity impersonator.
According
to GigSalad.com, a website dedicated to booking live entertainers,
Curtis does impersonations of “70 of the biggest names in music
history,” including Elvis, Johnny Cash, Prince, Bon Jovi and Kenny
Chesney.
On the website, Curtis goes by the stage name
“KC,” which was used in the letters sent to Obama and Wicker and to Lee
County Justice Court Judge Sadie Holland.
“I am KC and I approve this message,” the letters read.
“I am KC and I approve this message,” the letters read.
Curtis
posted on his Facebook page on Tuesday a reaction to the death of
8-year-old Martin Richard in the Boston Marathon bombings:
“heart
breaking. I have an 8 year old son with the smile of an angel. This
world is not what it used to be and the hopes of all are not what they
‘USED’ to be. We have let God down. We removed prayer from schools in
62....we have staged wars simply for profits in oil and drugs....we have
lied our way from the capitol to the pulpit. We the people should be
ashamed. I weep for the future of our children. God bless,” he posted."
Curtis
says on his Facebook page that he graduated South Natchez High School
in 1987 and Louisiana Business College in 1990. He owns his own business
and is a singer and entertainer, the page says.
While the page says he is living in Natchez, he gives his address as “1 800 JUSTICE BLVD” in Tupelo.
Curtis
has a three-octave range and is a seven-time World Finalist in Images
of the King, an impersonation contest in Memphis. GigSalad.com also says
Curtis holds a Guiness World Record “for creating the 1st brother Duo
Tribute to Elvis Act in 2002.”
On ReverbNation, another
website dedicated booking live entertainers, Curtis’ bio says that he is
a Monroe, La., native and the youngest of four children. His family
moved to Natchez in 1973.
“Kevin's mother would enter
little KC in his first talent contest at the local county fair at the
age of 10 where he would take home his 1st of many trophies performing
"Teddy Bear" & "Don't Be Cruel" in the style of course of the King,
Elvis Presley,” the bio on ReverbNation says.
On his Facebook page under Religious Views, Curtis writes:
“Never
been a bench warming church going judgmental hypocrite (ouch...that left
a stain on a few I've met in northeast, Ms). I pray daily, treat others
how I wish to be treated, Lead by example, am always willing to learn
& better myself daily. I do my best to help others in need daily. I
am sad for the ignorant of the world & pray double for them. A
Christian to me...is one who is always willing to admit one's short
comings to themself & to God...one who opens his or her own heart up
to the "light" that is so seldom shown in this world today. One who
strives to be a better, more caring and giving person each day & one
who takes steps every day to make the world a better place for our
children.”
Under Political Views, he writes, “Is
facebook.com REALLY a place to advertise our political views?
Really...throw me a frickin bone here someone!”
In
2007, someone using the name Kevin Johnson and a MySpace account titled
KCandtheBayouBand posted a critical comment on a GoElvis.com article
telling about Elvis impersonators competing in the Tupelo Elvis Contest.
“I
went undercover in 2000 and discovered several Elvis contest in several
states which were rigged with hosts and judges getting kick-backs. That
just takes the fun out of anything I guess. I found Tupelo, Mississippi
to be the most corrupt …,” the comment said.
Curtis wrote
online that his mother met Elvis in 1954 while on a date with Curtis’
father. Curtis said that his dad “played the Louisiana Hayride and
performed back-to-back with Elvis.”
“Dad said it was the last time he’d ever do that again!” Curtis wrote.
Clarion-Ledger writers Therese Apel, Dustin Barnes, Emily Lane and Sam R. Hall contributed to this report.
UPDATE:
In April, Curtis made the following Facebook post on gun control, which was accompanied by a Huffington Post article:
Definitely not an Obama fan, but no evidence that he is some Tea Partier either. He might be a PUMA. lol
In a separate 2007 post on RipOffReport.com, a man going by the name “Kevin Curtis” references sending several letters to Sen. Wicker and other lawmakers about some legal troubles. He also claims he ran into Sen. Wicker on another occasion:

UPDATE:
“If it’s Kevin Curtis, we’ve had him in our jail about 4 times, mostly misdemeanors like simple assault. But in 2008 for telephone harassment and stalking. I
think he has some very serious psychological issues from my dealings
with him. In the past I had read some of his Facebook postings and it
was very far out there. He’ll get down on you and bash you with everything he’s got, even making up stuff, and I’ve seen that side of him.”

In April, Curtis made the following Facebook post on gun control, which was accompanied by a Huffington Post article:
'Hmmmm..This is just a crazy guess on my part (and what do
I know, I’m just a performance artist with a fetish for pretty arched
feet) buuuuuuuuuuuuuuut…I’m thinking that no matter WHAT laws are EVER
passed thru the REVOLVING doors of our justice $y$tem &
Congress…..that BAD PEOPLE who refuse to allow God into their hearts
will ALWAYS find a way to get their cowardly little hands on a weapon……I
might also ad that if a person spends enough time on thinking how to
take another person’s life, he or she could do so with a hair pin, a
thumb tack or a wall clock (they just don’t have the “CLIP” like those
ole nasty assault weapons do. I’ll leave you with one question……………”WHY
IS IT GOOD OLE SAM WALTON CAN INSTALL THE EYES OF HEAVEN CAMERA SYSTEM
IN EVERY WALMART OF THE WORLD WHERE THEY CAN SEE THIEVES COMING AND/OR
GOING FROM A MILE AWAY AND CATCH 98% OF THOSE WHO TRY TO STEAL THEIR
MERCHANDISE YET WE CAN’T APPLY THAT SAME TECHNOLOGY TOWARDS SECURING OUR
SCHOOL SYSTEMS AND PROTECTING OUR MOST VALUABLE ASSET WHICH IS OUR
CHILDREN…………..LEADERS OF THE FUTURE”? HMMMMMMMMMM'
I sent letters to
State Representative Roger Wicker, Senator Trent Lott and Thad Cochran. I never
heard a word from anyone. I even ran into Roger Wicker several different times
while performing at special banquets and fundraisers in northeast, Mississippi but
he seemed very nervous while speaking with me and would make a fast exit to the
door when I engaged in conversation leading up to my case against NMMC.
I escorted a young
radiology technician to the morgue as she did not believe me. When she saw the
body parts and severed head, she could not believe it either. We told every
single person in Radiology what was in the old upright refrigerator.
I immediately
noticed a change in the atmosphere. Security guards were all of a sudden around
me…walking behind me and I could hear video camera’s zooming in on me as I
walked down the hallways that night. Security followed me to the time card
machine that night for the first time in 14 months.
The following day, I
was called over the loud speaker for the first time since joining the team at
NMMC. I was questioned by men I had never met in my life. I was asked to sign
several false documents stating I was in an area of the NMMC that I was not
authorized to be in and would be hereby suspended without pay while the matter
at hand was investigated. I did not go to law school like my sister but I knew
better than to sign something like that.
3 Years of research
lead to countless court battles, cops harassing me weekly, death threats,
personal & financial losses, several thefts, my home burned down, car
exploded, marriage dissolved & bankruptcy.
I have no faith left
in the Mississippi Justice system. I feel my coming forward with my story and
releasing it to news media all over the USA in 2001 has helped expose the
illegal body parts and organ trade market world-wide,” he concludes. “I
personally sent out more than a million emails in one year detailing what
happened to me when I found the body parts at NMMC.”
