This video
from 2007 was taken at a reception for Paul at a private residence
where the congressman became engaged in conversation with a man from the
organisation, Student Scholars for 9/11 Truth:
Martell: Here we go...
Paul: Okay.
Martell: So we're working with Scholars For 9/11 Truth.
Paul: I've heard about that, but I don't know much about it. We're an affiliate organization of scholars ... it's for students because Scholars is for college professors or people with an academic affiliation, but this is for students ... and we’ve heard that you have questioned the government’s official account.
Paul: Well, I never automatically trust anything the government does when they do an investigation because too often I think there’s an area that the government covered up, whether it’s the Kennedy assassination or whatever.
Martell: So I just wanted to say, you know, we’ve talked to Dennis Kucinich and he says that he’s willing to, you know, investigate it. He would advocate for a new investigation.
Paul: Into 9/11?
Martell: Yeah, into 9/11. I mean, if it was Dennis Kucinich and you, there’d be congressional support. You know what I mean? So you wouldn’t be the only one.
Paul: It’d be bipartisan, too. And I’ve worked with Dennis a lot on a lot of these issues.
Martell: So I mean, would you advocate for a new investigation into 9/11?
Paul: Yes, I think we have to look at the details of it ... the investigation was an investigation in which there were government cover-ups ... there could be a better investigation because there's a split in government. So, I would certainly consider that and I think it would be worthwhile. If you do the same thing over and over again, you're just spinning your wheels, but I'll certainly work with Dennis. So, I'll talk to Dennis and he's in a position now with the party majority that he might have a better chance with it.
Martell: Yeah, he has subpoena power and everything so...
Paul: And, we'd have a better chance of getting a new investigation. Too often, investigations on almost any issue is usually a cover up.
Martell: Yeah, and I know that he is really serious about this because I know that his office is already investigating certain aspects of 9/11. He's having his guys look into it.
Paul: I'll talk to him about it.
Martell: That'd be great, thank you. Thank you very much.
"Why won't you come out about the truth about 9/11?"
- We Are Change LA, December
"Because
I can't handle the controversy, I have the I.M.F., the Federal Reserve
to deal with, the I.R.S. to deal with -- no because I just have more,
too many things on my plate."
- Ron Paul
He can't tell "the truth about 9/11" because he has "too many things on his plate"?!?!? He claims that he isn't a Truther. Well, if he isn't a Truther, then why not tell the reporter? Why would it matter what is "on his plate"?
17 January 2007:
On the Alex Jones show, (with Jack Blood guest-hosting) Paul says:
"..a real investigation isn't going to happen. But I think we have to keep pushing for it."
CALLER: I want a complete, impartial, and totally independent investigation of the events of September 11, 2001 . I'm tired of this bogus garbage about terrorism. Ask Michael Meacher about how he feels about this bogus war on terrorism. Can you comment on that please?
RON PAUL: Well, that would be nice to have. Unfortunately,
we don't have that in place. It will be a little bit better now with the
Democrats now in charge of oversight. But you know, for top level
policy there's not a whole lot of difference between the two policies so
a real investigation isn't going to happen. But I think we have to keep
pushing for it. And like you and others, we see the investigations that
have been done so far as more or less cover-up and no real explanation
of what went on.
16 June 2007:
Among supporters in an airport, Ron Paul says that the 9/11 investigation, similar to that of JFK, Waco, Ruby Ridge, amounts to a 'coverup'.
Among supporters in an airport, Ron Paul says that the 9/11 investigation, similar to that of JFK, Waco, Ruby Ridge, amounts to a 'coverup'.
As we move into the Fall and toward 2008 when he decides he is going to run for President, he does a slight pivot. Now, he claims that he isn't a Truther nor was the government involved...
Fall 2007:
Ron Paul, at The Arab American Institute Conference in Dearborn, Michigan, at minute 11:00 while referring to republican congressmen, Paul says:
"9/11 changed everything.. and they loved it."
Paul also discusses the "neocons" calls for a "new Pearl Harbor" type event, which later "fell into their lap."
7 October 2007:
Ron Paul says 9/11 was ineptness and NOT "an Inside Job"
Steve Gill: "....Do you think the American government, the U.S. government, had anything to do with bringing those towers down either directly or allowing it to happen?
Ron Paul: "I think indirectly out of ineptness rather than
participating in it, planning it or allowing it to happen. I see it's
ineptness - that's why I think the investigations are always coverup of
the inefficiency of government.....that's why I don't trust the investigations. But you know, the neocons were very explicit even before 9/11 that it would be an advantage if they had a Pearl Harbor type of an event
where they could move their foreign policy along and use that as an
excuse. That doesn't mean there's evidence that they planned it. You
know, I don't think you can go from one step to the other. But if
certain events occur, they can make good use of it."
10 January 2008:
Ron Paul denounces 9/11 truth during nationally televised presidential debate in South Carolina.
Q. Many of your supporters call themselves '9/11 Truthers'. They
believe that the U.S. government was in some way complicit with the 9/11
attacks or covered it up. Are you tonight prepared to either embrace
that rhetoric or ask those supporters to abandon it, or divorce
themselves from your candidacy?
Paul: Well, I can't tell people what to do, but I've abandoned those viewpoints, I don't believe that, and that's all.. that's the only thing that is important, and so I don't endorse anything they say, but I would like to take an opportunity to talk about the issue that we've been debating here for the last 20 minutes.
Q. Sir, would you ask them to cease that rhetoric tonight on your behalf?
Paul: Well it doesn't do me any good, so if they care about me they
should, but the only thing I have control over is what I believe and
what i say. I can't tell them what to do, so I don't endorse what they
say and I don't believe that, so please, could I participate in the
current debate rather than talking this out?
A. please do. Please do. Please do. Please do.
"I'VE ABANDONED THOSE VIEWPOINTS, I don't believe that, and that's all.. that's the only thing that is important, and so I don't endorse anything they say...."
"I'VE ABANDONED THOSE VIEWPOINTS" = "I was a Truther....before I started running for POTUS."

Committed Socialist and America-Hater, Noam Chomsky, "There's nothing controversial about Ron Paul's 9/11 theories."
A ringing endorsement, for sure!
