Touré: The Ultimate ObamaFirster

Dictator has power of life and death:

"He’s the Commander in Chief. RT @kirstenpowers10: You are fine w the White House deciding who is guilty and who should die?"

— Touré (@Toure) 5 February 2013

From The Right Sphere:

Want to see hypocrisy in action?

Meet MSNBC’s Touré.

Here’s what he said about drone strikes back on 20 December 2012, seven weeks ago when he insisted that torture, and drone warfare, are not making America safer nor should those tactics provide defense officials with actionable intelligence.

“Pragmatically, it did not work. It did not produce information, and it did not make us safer.  Drone strikes aren’t making us safer. They wreck the soul of America.”

-  Touré Neblett, co-host of The Cycle on MSNBC, 20 December 2012

Now that we’ve learned that the Obama administration is calling the killing of American citizens without due process “legal, ethical, and wise,” Touré has changed his tune.

"We’re at war with al Qaeda right now, and if you join al Qaeda, you lose the right to be an American. You lose the right to due process. You declare yourself an enemy of this nation, and you are committing treason. And I don’t see why we should expand American rights to people who want to kill Americans, who are working to kill Americans, who are committing treason. This is not criticizing the United States. This is going to war against the United States."

-  Touré Neblett, co-host of The Cycle on MSNBC, 5 February 2013

That is what you call “hackery.”

I really like the part where Touré talks about expanding American rights to people who want to kill Americans. Because that’s what HE and his ilk wanted to do with the people we captured on the battlefield in Afghanistan and elsewhere. This is exactly what he and his ilk argued when they wanted terrorists at Gitmo to be tried in US courts. This is exactly what conservatives have argued against for years.

Let’s be clear, I agree with Touré when it comes to non-US citizens who are terrorists. We should not be extending American rights to these monsters. But if the monster is a US citizen, he should get due process. Touré has given up on this.

Touré is a ginormous hypocrite.

Reporters used to volunteer to be waterboarded “tortured” in order to criticise Bush.

They should be consistent and try out Obama’s “‘Due Process? What’s that?’ Execution Programme For American Citizens.”

If they do not, however will they know for certain that being “tortured” is worse than being summarily executed?

Consistency, please.
